There was a great line up of speakers for the recent meeting “Internal Ribosomal Entry Site: Advances and applications” held on Oct 23rd at the BioPark, Hertfordshire.

The meeting brought together experts studying the mechanism of action of IRES elements and their role in translational control of viral and cellular protein synthesis, to review the latest research in this area. The biotechnological exploitation of these elements, for example in gene therapy and protein expression vectors was also discussed.

I've posted the feedback that we received from our delegates here. Please feel free to add your comments if you were at this event (or if you did not attend, let us know what you would like from this sort of meeting).
